limerence

[ li-mer-uhns ]

noun

  1. the state of being obsessively infatuated with someone, usually accompanied by delusions of or a desire for an intense romantic relationship with that person: ‘Her limerence lasted for around three months before she actually met him.’

This song is about being in the wild throws of a new love, an infatuating whirlwind from where you might elope to Mexico, brush each others teeth and have sex under trees

BIO

Anna Ling is a playful and poetic singer/songwriter, influenced by a strong connection to traditional British folk music, and a long-running fascination with weird and wonderful singing styles from across the globe. She studied Ethnomusicology at SOAS, focusing on Bulgarian singing and Mongolian Overtone singing, alongside studying Classical Indian singing over a number of years in North India. She runs Choirs, and has done for 15 years, and is utterly obsessed with harmony singing.

She self-records and produces from her home, a yurt in a valley by the River Dart. She believes recording is a process of forming mystery into sound waves, and will dress up, light candles and choose smells and tastes to invoke particular emotions and memories associated with the track she’s recording. She’s been played on Radio 3, SOHO Radio, SoundArt and Cambridge 105, and performs regularly around the country.

When performing, she loves to get the audience singing, and tells terrible jokes while she's tuning.
