YOGA

Dartington Yoga

I teach every Thursday from 6 pm to 7 pm at Dartington Village Hall. Our Autumn term kicks off on 19th September and runs until 19th December. We’re a warm and welcoming group, and the class is open to everyone— advanced poses will always be offered alongside easier options. It’s a space to drop into presence, flowing through postures linked with rhythmic breath in a creative, mindful sequence.

The body, when experienced in the present moment, holds an entire world of joy. Yoga is one of the best tools I’ve found to take us beyond the mind’s chatter and into a clearer, more joyful connection. I love the Sanskrit phrase “sat chit ananda,” which translates roughly to “being, consciousness, bliss.” By coming into a state of Being (rather than doing), and becoming conscious of that Being, we naturally find ourselves in Bliss. Yoga isn’t about escaping life—it’s about being fully present with all of it, the good and the bad, allowing us to reconnect with and remember who we are beyond the stories we live.

With over 10 years of teaching experience, I’ve completed two certified YTT courses and trained in Forrest Yoga, Hatha, Power Yoga, and Iyengar. I also teach in and around Totnes, at retreats, and at events and festivals.
